Most internship positions at Rocketown for the Fall are filled — however, our Development Office is still in need of interns for all of the 2014-2015 school year!

History: Rocketown was founded in 1994 by Michael W. Smith. The first of its kind in the Southeast, Rocketown has grown into a regional outreach as well as a model for Christian-based relational outreach across the country. Following the tragedy of Columbine in 1999, Rocketown’s board was inspired to grow the scope of programming and move to a central location in downtown Nashville. The current facility features three stages for live entertainment, Middle Tennessee’s only indoor skatepark, The Hub snack bar, a recording studio, and photography, art and dance studios. More than 800 teens from across the Middle Tennessee region participate in programs each week and at an after-school program at McGavock High School.
Time Frame: Rocketown offers a year-round college internship program: fall semester (late August-December), spring semester (mid January- April), and summer (mid May-August).

Time Commitment: 10 hours per week, minimum. Division of hours depends on internship. Specifics will be outlined during the interview process, but may include office hours, music venue work and one group meeting per week.
Group Experience: Again, based on the position secured, interns may coordinate a benefit show for the charity of their choice. This group project would include securing bands, creating promotional materials, marketing the event, and securing representation of the charity.

Also, because we serve young people from 8-22 years old, we are required to conduct a background check of any potential employee, volunteer, or intern before engagement. That document is available here your review. If both these documents can be agreed with and signed, please print, sign and return with your cover letter and resume. After initial review, the supervisor of the area to which you are applying for internship will send you an internship application.
